AI has become an incredibly contentious and divisive topic, generally putting people into camps: pro-AI or anti-AI, much like the longstanding divide between those who are for or against guns.

Guns can take lives, and they also can save lives. Similarly, AI can offer tremendous benefits and assist with breakthroughs in science, mathematics, and even our personal lives. All of which can benefit humanity and society. On the flip side, AI can also cause irreversible harm to humanity and society. One of the potential harms is its contribution to the erosion of human intellect and critical thinking.

“AI is making people dumber” is a common cry you will read and hear echoing across the varied halls of society. Honestly, generative AI hasn't been accessible to the general public long enough for us to place the sole blame for declining cognitive abilities on it.

Many home technologies and luxuries originate from industrial development and changing needs. I think AI will be another example of this. When businesses have operational costs and problems that are expensive, they tend to invest a lot into finding ways to drive those costs down. One of these problems or costs can be the social and moral obligation that consumers expect from them. In the case of AI, some of those social costs are the amount of natural resources and the sound and thermal pollution AI produces.

I believe that over time the "cost" of AI will come down significantly, like that of computers. This includes both the operational cost and the social cost. AI data centers will (hopefully) one day require less water and produce less noise and heat. There is already a lot of research and development around cooling and energy innovation with AI. Can AI help solve the challenges that its growth creates?

There is a sizable percentage of the population that views AI as an enemy. I read a lot of concerns online about the use of generative AI and the negative effects that AI data centers have on the environment and neighborhoods. Mainly, the large amount of electricity needed, cooling, and in some cases, the large amounts of water needed. Very valid concerns indeed. But AI, just like any other tool, can be used for good or bad. So, instead of looking at AI as a tool of destruction, look at it as a tool that can solve a problem, even though it might be one that AI...or we humans created.

Since AI doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon, let's discuss ways we can:

• Optimize cooling systems or data centers

• Reduce water consumption

Greg Here. So im really behind when it comes to AI and i honestly have a problem with change in general and im trying to change that because AI is the future, we cant avoid it so im focused on maximizing my personal benefit from it. Basically im at the point where im now analyzing each part of my business to see where i can implement. Right now AI marketing is the most important thing that i want to setup. It feels overwhelming to wrap my head around it all sometimes but im optimistic.
